By the way, if you want to reduce the font size... do this...
Under the \Notes directory, you will find a file 'notes.ini'. Edit that file and put the following entry to change the font size:
....
EnableJavaApplets=1
EnablePlugins=1
...
Display_Font_Adjustment=1
The one in BOLD above is the entry you need to put to adjust your font size. Higher the number, bigger the font. You can also go in negative to reduce it further. e.g. I love the Georgia font, really small i.e. about 8pt. The above numbers are in pixels (I guess), so go as low as -1 or -2 to have a really small display!

That changed the font size in the body of the message, but did not change the size of the font in the display window.
i.e. The size of the font on the left panel (Inbox, Drafts, Sent, etc) and mail summary panel (Sender / Subject / Date / Size) did not change.
I can change the standard display font size in Lotus notes 8.5 by going to:
- Click the main menu File
- Click Preferences. New window pops up.
- In the list on the left, click Font
- On the right, select Normal, Large, or extra Large.
But as indicated above, I can only make the font bigger, not smaller. Stupid program.
I agree. And I thought, they might do something about this in Notes 8.2
But nothing has changed :)
You might be interested in this. GMail has come out of beta, and is courting business users.
Freescale Semiconductor announced they were dumping lotus notes and switching to GMail as their business client.
Hopefully either:
- Other companies follow suit (especially mine), or
- Lotus notes gets scared and finally becomes half as useful/easy to use as Mozilla Thunderbird

Yeah, I read about Google removing the Beta tag from a lot of their products and services... Thats nice. I remember our organization also considering shifting to Gmail as their corporate mail server. Don't know whats the latest with that though :-)
